On Wednesday, 31.1.2024, HarjoittuMylly visited Vuosaari to award the Onboard Training Vessel of the year 2023 with a prize and a diploma. Based on the apprentices’ feedback, this time the annually given award went to Finnlady, shipping company Finnlines.
The answers in the feedback surveys are on a scale from1 to 5, Finnlady’s result was an average of 4.9. In the feedback comments Finnlady received a lot of compliments for the vessel’s atmosphere and how well the apprentices were introduced to vessel’s procedures and included in the work community.
The award was given to vessel’s Master Henrik Sunell and 2nd officer Jalmari Pirinen. Sunell’s tip for future apprentice was to always ask for help with assignments when needed. The crew is happy to help and expects the apprentices to ask, because there are a lot of new things to learn.
The event was also attended by Petri Laitinen and Claus Pratsch, who represented Finnlines. After handing out the award, we stayed on the vessel for lunch and coffee and discussed about the onboard training. New deck apprentive Aaron, who just arrived for his OBT, also came to lunch with us and we had time to meet him.
Thank you for the visit Finnlady and congratulations on the award to the entire crew and shipping company!
