In case of an accident

The apprentices are insured via the academies when they perform work tasks during the OBT. The maritime academy’s insurance does not cover leisure time during the OBT – e.g., the time when the apprentices sleep, eat, or go ashore. For this purpose, students should have a personal insurance, such as a travel, leisure, or accident insurance.

The maritime academy’s and the student’s insurance information is included in the OBT-contract.

In case of an accident the incident must be reported to the maritime academy and HarjoitteluMylly. The maritime academy needs information about the accident to be able to file a claim. We recommend that the vessel compiles an accident/incident report immediately after the incident and sends it to the academy.
